Our Youth Easter Party event (for kids -- by kids) was a great youth event hosted and sponsored by our DPC Middle School and High School youth groups for the younger kids up through the fifth grade in our church and our community. It was held on Saturday, April 8^th, and despite the rain (that activated the plan B -- an indoor event) everyone still had a great time! 

The teens met on Wed. night (the week of the party) and filled 300 plastic eggs with candy and toys. Then early Saturday morning, the group came to church and made lunch for the children (peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cheese curls, applesauce, decorated cupcakes, and punch). Next they hid plastic eggs and candy eggs in the education wing of the church.

In addition to lunch, the younger kids were provided a challenging indoor egg hunt, coloring activities, a cross craft, games, the Veggie Tales Easter movie, and the reading of the Easter story.

This event proved to be rewarding for both groups of youth; the older group - that planned and conducted the event; and the younger group - that attended. Each servant and those that were served all had a good-time and each took away some lasting fun filled memories for the mind, and sweets for the tummy.
