Hebrews 5:14 (NASB)

Our Current Bible Studies --- Started Sept 14,
2008
Old Testament Studies,
Class Name:
Messengers,
Teachers:
Herm Auvil / John Mason
meets in the Sanctuary
This
class has been systematically studying the Books of the Bible starting in
Genesis and are now in the book of I Samuel.
Please join us as we examine God’s dealings with His
people, leading up to the birth of our blessed Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Once a month they take time for
voluntary group prayer for the persecuted church following the prayer requests
from Voice of the Martyrs. This class uses The Bible
to study The Bible!
What's So Amazing About Grace,
Class Name:
Teammates
Teacher:
Walt & Cheri Brown,
meets in the Norris Room (The room at the front right hand side
of our sanctuary).
EXPERIENCE
THEEXPERIENCE
THE
IMPACT OF GRACE!
It’s
one thing to talk about grace; it’s another to taste its power.
“What’s So Amazing About Grace?”
will take our group through gut-level encounters with radical,
life-changing grace.
Through candid video interviews, Philip Yancey integrates
true-life faces and experiences with powerful sessions that will
rock your preconceptions and get our group thinking and talking.
Let’s discover together why grace is more amazing than
you’ve ever dreamed!
Listening to Love:
Responding to the Startling Voice of God,
Class Name:
Women's Class,
Teacher:
Stephanie Wilson,
meets in the Fellowship Hall
Do
you desire a closer relationship with God?
How do we hear God when He’s speaking to us?
Have you ever been afraid of what God will ask of you if you listen to
Him? Join us as we discover that God
is calling to us in love, and how to be obedient to that call - even when we are
afraid that the ‘ride’ is going to turn our world upside down.
But, the truth is that God wants us.
He wants ALL of us.
And, he asks EVERYTHING of us.
But, He also wants to give us EVERYTHING – complete restoration,
fulfillment, unending love.
Love is calling to you.
Do you have
the courage to answer the call?
Sonship,
Class Name:
Men's
Troop, Teacher:
Cliff Madden, meets in RM 105 (lower level)
WE
ARE
SONS OF THE LIVING GOD;
forgiven, righteous, adopted, accepted, free and heirs to
EVERYTHING that belongs to Christ.
Join us as we navigate this
exciting
journey to the realization of our
“Sonship” and the peace, joy and freedom that comes with that discovery!
Your life will never be the same again!
This class
is designed to encourage participants to a greater faith,
repentance and love. Sonship teaches us that the Gospel has the
power to transform us and the world around us. Even with our
sin, weakness and failures, the grace of God frees us from sin's
stranglehold on our lives. The Gospel gives us the ability to
face our sins and fears and to trust Christ alone for our
happiness, identity, fulfillment and significance. Sonship
teaches us that the kingdom of God is about renewal, restoration
and the reconciliation of all things. Come join us and learn the
good news that we are sons and daughters of the living God,
deeply loved and cared for by our Maker.
J. I. Packer writes that, “To be right with God the judge is a
great thing, but to be loved and cared for by God the Father is
far greater.” Most Christians accept that they are forgiven by
God the judge but, when truly honest with themselves, struggle
with accepting that God our Father truly loves us. Sonship is a
course designed to make God’s gracious love a reality in our
daily lives. Sonship is part of our Find Us Faithful vision
plan. We have set a goal that ultimately 50% of all active
members will have completed the study and 100% of our church
leadership will have. Sonship is a training tool which we hope
will encourage members to greater faith, repentance and love.
NOOMA,
Class Name:
College & Career Teacher:
Darian Burns Meets:
at the Manse (the Pastor’s house next door to the church)
Through short film clips we will be using the NOOMA (meaning
‘spirit’ or ‘breath’) format with Rob Bell. We will be
discussing issues that we all have wondered about and want to
talk about. How can God just watch us suffer? How
are we supposed to deal with loss? Does God really answer
prayers? What does a real relationship with God look like?
What if we’ve done something really bad and don’t feel ‘good
enough’ to come to church? How do we handle the anger and
the hurt when a friend betrays us? Why do some people seem
to have it so easy and my life always seems so hard? What
is love supposed to look like? Do I really matter?
Join us as we discuss issues that we all have had to deal with
and sometimes have questioned. We’ll look at how Jesus
dealt with issues during His life and what God is saying to us
in His Word.

you make sharing your faith a natural part of your life.
PART II:
Putting On The
Armor by Chuck Lawless
Are You Ready for Battle?
Do I have to put on
the armor of God daily? How do I put it on? What
if I am missing one or more of the pieces?
Putting on the Armor:
Equipped and Deployed for Spiritual Warfare
gives solid biblical answers from this
well-known passage in
Ephesians 6: 10-20.
Author Dr. Chuck Lawless explores not only this passage but
also the entire book of Ephesians as Paul builds toward this
topic in the last chapter.
Learn the interconnection between each part and why each is essential.
Develop the desire for the godly character traits that allow
believers to wear the complete armor – not to sit on the
bench or pew but to be deployed in your family,
neighborhood, business, and church. Gaining insight
into the Enemy’s attacks will give you victory in defeating
him or faithful endurance until God’s purposes are served.
