I Thess. 2:7-8 - Showing tender care, concern, and affection for people

When called by a congregation to be the shepherd of that flock, that person shall be called Pastor.  Our Teacher serves as one who cares for the spiritual well being of others, and leads us to do likewise.


Meet Our Senior Pastor/Teacher and His Role


Reverend Darian G. Burns
Pastor and Teaching Elder of Dundalk Presbyterian Church.

Pastor Burns has over twenty years of experience in all levels of ministry. He has preached in churches throughout the South Eastern United States, Missouri and Illinois. In addition to preaching Pastor Bums has served churches as an Associate Pastor, Minister of Youth and Minister of Music. Pastor Bums has his bachelors in History Education and his Masters of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary. Pastor Bums and his wife Edith have three sons: Jonathan, Matthew, and Micah.

Duties of the Pastor shall be to preach and expound the Word, to be God’s prophet to the people and to be the people’s priest before God. The Pastor shall lead the people in worship, shall celebrate the Sacraments, shall oversee the education and nurture program of the congregation. The Pastor with the Ruling Elders shall minister to the sick, the dying, the grieving, the troubled, the poor, and to all those who have need of a Pastor’s care, love, and compassion. With the Ruling Elders, the Pastor shall exercise the joint power of government.
