What is Prayer?

 Asking God for things,
Psalm 62:8

that are in God's will,
Romans 8:27

in the name of Christ,
John 16:23

with confession of our sins,
Daniel 9:4

and thankful of God's mercies.
Philippians 4:6

Jesus gives us

a pattern for prayer

Jesus said,

After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth,

 as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

 And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil:

For Thine is the kingdom,  and the

power, and the glory, forever.

Amen.  Matthew 6:9-13 KJV

Begin with worship of God's

name, glorifying Him.

Is there a right way to pray? Some say:

• talk to God the Father.

• speak in Jesus' name.

• take time to pray.

• take time to listen.

• speak with God --

       not impress men!

• be on our knees --

       in our heart.

• focus our eyes --

       on the invisible God.
