July 1987 Rev. Paul A. Brown became our next pastor. Not counting interim pastors, he became the eighth pastor in our history.  He was the pastor from July 1987 through June 2004. He moved to Dundalk with his wife Mai, three year old son, Aaron, and nine month old daughter, Bethany. He received his B.A. in History and Religion from Taylor University and his Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary. And later, in 1994 a D.Min. from Bethany Theological Seminary. Prior to moving to Dundalk, Pastor Paul served as the first pastor of The Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Lake City, Michigan.

Most noted was that under his leadership the church started a second Sunday morning worship service. The 11 a.m. worship service continued to be in the traditional service style, while the early 8:30 a.m. service was and still is the more informal service that uses contemporary worship style and with the music eventually lead by a praise team.

In addition, Pastor Paul as some call him, worked with Shirley Morris, the Session and other interested members to establish a strong foreign missions program. While we had a good missions support program that started many years earlier, it expanded greatly during Paul's tenure.

Using Ephesians 4:11-13 as his foundation, Pastor Paul molded his ministry with the Dundalk Presbyterian Church family:

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.  Eph 4:11-13

As Pastor stated: "DPC was blessed with several faithful and godly members who served the Lord through the ministries of the church with a strong commitment, sacrificial work, and a loving attitude. Examples of these faithful servants make themselves obvious as one looks at the different ministries of DPC during the years 1987 - 2004."

History of DPC – July 1987 - June 2004

Dr. Paul Brown was called to New Covenant Presbyterian Church
(PCA) in Dallas, TX. After seventeen years of service here at Dundalk, Pastor Brown along with his wife Mai and their two children, Aaron and Bethany, officially departed DPC on June 30, 2004.

For the eighth time in our history we were without a full-time pastor. For the next 12 months our pulpit was ably filled by the much beloved and appreciated retired pastor, Dr. William Jones, and our next Pastor to be, Darian G. Burns.

Church membership at the beginning of 2005 was 215.

Rev. Darian G. Burns officially took the pulpit on July 24, 2005 as our ninth Pastor.
